Snorkel Trips - Cruise Cape San Blas on St. Joseph's Bay aboard the "Island Queen" cruise boat to one of our favorite snorkel spots. Great trip for all ages. Visitors have seen varieties of fish, horseshoe crabs, rays, seahorses, turtles, dolphin, conch, octopus, starfish and more. Learn about the marine life as the crew captures the creatures and places them in viewing buckets for everyone to see before release them back to St. Joseph Bay. This is a great trip for all ages...2 year olds to grandparents enjoy this shallow water snorkeling. Most trips are close to isolated beach areas that are good for shelling. Shells may be kept as long as they are dead, the shells with live conch or live creatures must be returned to their environment. Bring a small cooler with drinks and snacks, sunscreen, towel, sunglasses, and non-skid shoes with light soles. Scallop Trips -
July 1 to September 10 Scallop season. Join the Seahorse Crew in a scallop hunt. Learn how to catch, clean and cook your catch. Scallopping is only legal in 5 counties in Florida. Each legal county has a select area where scalloping is permitted and St. Joseph Bay on Cape San Blas is one. Scallops like to hide in the sea grass beds of St. Joseph Bay. Water for scalloping is generally 2 to 6 feet deep. Children that are comfortable in the water and can use a mask can join in the scallop chase. Scalloping is abit like a treasure hunt poking in the beds and finding scallops. We provide the gear, tools, fishing license, instructions on catching and cleaning, and recipes
for cooking. Trips are 3 hours, when you return you need another hour for the cleaning process. Due to fishing limits we only take 10 to 15 per trip, so if you want to give this a try be sure to book early. View the shrimp docks, watch the pelicans fish, and maybe catch a dolphin splashing along the shoreline in the sinking sun. Bring your favorite beverage and listen to the story of local history while cruising St Joseph Bay to watch the setting sun. Trips leave 1 hour before sunset and return when the sun drops below Cape San Blas. $12.00 Shark Fishing - Shark Fishing is an evening trip. It is a 2 1/2 to 3 hour trip with a view of the lowering sunset off the tip of Cape San Blas. This trip is a fun trip with Jimmy Buffet tunes and the occasional Jaws theme. Due to the fact that sharks like to tangle lines, be prepared to reel in quickly when your fishing neighbor hooks one to keep the lines from tangling. The trip is a catch and release and sharks are handled by Captain and crew only. Drinks and snacks sold on board....$40.00
- Bottom Fishing - Departs in the morning and returns in the afternoon. All rods, licenses and bait included. Trips travel 15 miles to bottom fish for Snapper, Trigger fish, Vermillon Snapper, Black and White Snapper, Amberjack and more. Be prepared to ride for awhile before you stop to fish.You may keep legal catch to take home. Bring a lunch (small coolers only), snack bar is available with candy bars, chips and drinks. Heritage Tour - This is a unique tour has been featured on a TV Special. You will learn the intriguing past on Gulf and Franklin Counties. Captain Roger will bring artifacts from his personal collection. Your tour will begin at Depot Creek to see remnants of this intriguing past. From Depot Creek meander through wild Florida to Lake Wimco and then on to the Apalachicola River. You may have the opportunity to see Bald Eagle, Osprey, Hawk, Blue Heron, Gators, Wild Hog and otters.When you are doing something you enjoy and have the scenic peaceful surroundings of Lake Wimco, the only thing more you could ask for is for the Captian to go early and watch the sun rise over Lake Wimco. This Lake is only accessible be water and is very isolated and the sun rise can be spectular as a sunset. 6 people max $400.00
