Scalloping with Seahorse Water Safaris

Scallop Trips
July 1st to September 10th

July 1st through early September is scallop season and time to harvest St. Joseph’s Bay succulent morsels. The Seahorse Crew will help you locate the sea grass beds where scallops love to hide. Scallops enjoy hiding in the sea grass beds.. If you have never gone on a scallop trip, it is much like a treasure hunt in water. The key to finding scallops is locating them between the blades of sea grass. Scallops’ coloration helps them blend in to the sea grass beds. Just about the time you think you have spotted one to capture, they will start clapping their shells and propel away from you. We provide scallop bags and nets, saltwater fishing license, and instruction on how to clean and cook these tasty morsels.  The fun part is catching and cleaning your own dinner. You bring a small cooler to keep your catch cold. Additionally, bring sunscreen, drinks, sunglasses, towels, and don't forget the camera. Snorkel gear provide by Seahorse. $45.00 per person - Snorkel Gear Included
