06/28/08 - Tarpon Fishing - Customer Feedback

These trips were a blast. Seahorse gave us four great guides. We had a group of 8. (My wedding party) I am told that Tarpon are actually prehistoric animals, traveling the warm seas back as far as a million years ago. This somehow made catching or hooking up the Tarpon more interesting. The guides informed us that the challenge is to boat the Tarpon.   That means actually get the silver giant to the boat for a picture. My experience at the first hook-up was the Tarpon ran out about 200 yards of my fishing line and leaped 2 twice about six feet out of the water before I could react. It was an experience I won't forgot. We had a great time trying to "boat" these fish, not all of us managed it but we had a wonderful time trying.
